The winning video for Lashbook’s and the Ontario Trillium Foundation’s ‘Organ Donation’ contest
My Task: To create a video advertisement that will promote the campaign and get people to sign up to be an organ donor.
My Solution: This video’s script was taken from an interview a teammate of mine, Kate Spence, conducted with a couple who was effected by organ donation. I had to go through and animate all the scenes and transitions using after effects. We wanted to show the story, not just for viewers to hear it. We decided not to go the rout of an interview with the person because it just doesn’t catch people attention as much, and there are so many other interviews following that formate that it could get lost in the crowd. We also wanted people to be able to see the video and understand it without sound, because often times when you are scrolling through social media and come across a video, you are in a public place and unable to turn on sound.
